Ellan Vannin Postponed date tbc. Pier to Pier instead

The Committee of Manx Fell Runners have decided that due to the difficult conditions on the Ellan Vannin course the race will not go ahead next Sunday. All the roads around the higher parts of the course are still closed and with the weather expected to stay cold for the next week there is a big chance that there will be no access for our marshals to take their positions.

We are also concerned about the lack of chances to recce the difficult course, especially the new section, and also the dangers of the huge snow drifts that are lying on the routes gulleys.

It is not possible to organise any LONG fell league race this weekend due to access issues with roads closed, and snow drifts blocking some paths.

Bradda will be held on its previously published date.

Ellan Vannin will hopefully be re-scheduled.

Instead MFR are organising a non league race: Graham Davies proposed 2013 Pier to Pier route, following the Raad Ny Foillan coastal footpath From Port St Mary to Port Erin, with some partly flagged deviations.
