Killer Mile 2014

This years Killer Mile which takes place on Wednesday 13th August will be held on a different course to that advertised. Last year it was held in Colden Plantation but for 2014 it will move to a measured one mile course on Douglas Head.

The race will again form part of the No Rest for the Wicked week.

Start will be near the Pigeon Stream car park on the Marine Drive and will then proceed through a couple of fields before joining on to the private road that leads to the Upper Howe farm. The route ascends along this road, turning right before the farm to finish by the radio masts.

The course has a short steep section to start but then climbs gradually for most of the remainder of the route. Trail or road shoes would be acceptable footwear.

Runners will set off at 30 second intervals with a maximum entry of 120. First competitor will start at 7.00pm.

PRE ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED. PLEASE REGISTER AT THE START.

A start list of pre entered runners will be available on manxfellrunners.org by Monday 11th August. Entries will also be taken on the day but they will have to slot in at available start times. All entry fees will be donated to a local charity, therefore no race prizes.

Minimum age of entry is 9 years on day of the race. Parking is available at the Pigeon Stream car park and on the Marine Drive.

The committee of Manx Fell Runners would like to thank Adam Kelly of Upper Howe Farm for making his land available for this event. As the whole of the course is on private land access is restricted to race day only. The road to Upper Howe is also private. Please do not drive up the road to watch the race. Those wishing to spectate must walk alongside the race route from the Marine Drive.

Due to the large number of livestock in the fields dogs are not permitted anywhere on the course.
