Winter Hill Race Rd 2 - Entry reminder

Reminder - entries close for round 2 of this years Winter Hill League at 6pm on Wednesday 5th November

If you intent to race please enter asap as there will be no entries on the day or any taken after the closing time. If you think you have already entered please check you are on the entry list online (you should have a tba next to your name under event 2).

Please note the following race dates and entry closing dates

  • Rd 2 - race date Saturday 8th November. Closing date is 6pm on Wednesday 5th November

  • Rd 3 - race date Saturday 6th December. Closing date is 6pm on Wednesday 3rd December

Due to the high numbers of entrants the Winter Hill League is strictly pre entry only with no entries taken on the day. When you enter you will receive an email confirmation, take the time now to double check you have this and the details are correct. Please ensure you have a copy of this with you at registration on race day (photo or email of it on a phone is sufficient) . If you are not on the entry list and cannot provide a copy of the confirmation email you will unfortunately not be able to run.

2025 Callin Wild League Finishers

For all those who have completed the Callin Wild Fell Running League - I've attached a version of the mixed league results so that you can check that all your races are accounted for. It is alphabetical and without point totals so you will still need to wait for the prize presentation at the AGM to see where you stand. If different spellings or abbreviations of a name are used when entering races it can mean that races get missed, so this is your chance to check. Don't forget that prizes are based on the the separate Men's and Women's league points, which gives a different points score and rank order.

The race is set up as a series so you can enter any or all of the races now. If you enter all 3 before the closing date of the first race you will receive a discount.

Please note the following race dates and entry closing dates

  • Rd 1 - race date Saturday 11th October. Closing date and series discount entry closing date is 6pm on Wednesday 8th October,

  • Rd 2 - race date Saturday 8th November. Closing date is 6pm on Wednesday 5th November

  • Rd 3 - race date Saturday 6th December. Closing date is 6pm on Wednesday 3rd December

The provisional leagues have been compiled now so we’re taking size orders for the hoodies. There is again an option for a zipped top but also a new sweatshirt option. Note that the zipped top is not available in XS.

Sunday 7th September sees the last counter in the Callin Wild sponsored Manx Fell League taking place over a varied, scenic and frequently challenging journey on some of the remote hills of the north west….including of course the delightful Slieau Freoaghane! The race is due to start at 10.00 from the Ballaugh Plantation car park where the finish will also be located.

MFR are delighted to advise that we will be hosted by the crew at Ballaugh Camping, Glen Road, Ballaugh () where registration will take place from 08.45 until 09.30. Car parking will be available in the field adjacent to the campsite further up Glen Road, please do not park in the camp site itself or on the road. Having registered you will need to walk/ jog up the road to the start. Please do not drive to the plantation car park as space is very limited and we need to keep access for the public.

It is the last weekend before the schools go back so why not make a family camping weekend of it? To book please contact the site by email using: [email protected] and please add ‘MFR’ in your communication.

The Pink Kitchen ( ) will also be on site who will be able provide post race teas and coffees and a lot lot more…..which we are sure you will appreciate post race.
