James Coulson Laxey Fell Race 2019

Next race in the Callin Wild Manx Fell Running League will be the James Coulson Laxey Race. Date is Thursday June 13th with a 7.00pm start from Glen Ruy Farm. Registration will be from 6.00pm until 6.45pm.

Full safety gear is mandatory for all runners. Minimum age is 18 years on race day. Distance is 13km with a challenging 650m of ascent. If you need to access the course for a recce the easiest way during TT fortnight is to go from the car park at Conrhenny. Farmer John Corlett has given permission to pass through the fields to the first summit check point, Johns Cairn. The course can then be followed as far as the final check point on the mountain wall above Ballacowin Farm. Please do not go on to the farm land. The route back to the finish will be clearly marked on race day. [Richie Stevenson]

Carraghan Fell Race 2019

Saturday 11th May sees the next round of the Callin Wild Fell Running League with the rescheduled Carraghan race. Note the date change from Friday 10th May (due to road closures).

The race is also a counter in the Junior League, for runners aged between 12 and 18.

Registration will be from 3pm at Colden car park - car sharing is advised due to limited parking. Additional space is available on the road adjoining the reservoir, plus at the bottom of the Governor Loch road (the one leading down from Colden, past the main car park on the left). Please keep the start/finish area clear for officials parking.

Kit wise then the rules are more relaxed with this being a short race but all runners must be bring a waterproof jacket and whistle in case they may be required. Juniors will be provided with a whistle for the race but must bring their own waterproof jacket.

We will be also accepting card payments (including contactless) to cover the race entry fee. No paper receipts will be issued but you can choose to receive one via email or text. Senior entry fee is £5, free for juniors.

Manx Mountain Marathon Information

For those not on Facebook, here is a summary of the final reminders for Saturday’s event. If anyone requires transport to Ramsey, please use the form at HERE. There will be pick ups from Port Erin, Douglas, Onchan and Laxey. There should be plenty of space but please let us know by Thursday evening just in case!

Registration opens for the MMM at St Paul`s church hall at 7.00 am until 7.45 am. The registration for the Half is in the Station Rd car park commencing at 12.00 pm until 12.45 pm. Please have your safety gear ready for inspection at both registrations. All race numbers must be worn on the chest and be clearly visible at all Safety Controls and the finish. Any runner who retires from the race must report to the nearest marshal or contact the RO (his mobile number will be on the reverse of your check slip)

At road crossings please follow the marshal`s instructions. They do not have the authority to stop traffic so you may have to wait. Your safety is their main priority.

Please do not drop any litter on any part of the course. If you have rubbish to dispose of please give to one of the course marshal`s.

All support crews and followers are asked to park with caution. The Greeba Bridge area in particular has very restricted parking available and this is required by the Civil Defence team and the marshal`s. There is a water station positioned here for the competitors so really there is no need for support teams to stop here. The large car park at St John`s is not far away with ample parking. We would hope that all support crews and followers head for there instead.
