Carraghan 2024

The next race in the Callin Wild Fell League is the short, but lung busting, Carraghan on Wednesday 10th July at 19.00. The route is the same as for the past few years, starting and finishing at the bridge at the head of Injebreck reservoir. All runners follow the same route. The route will be flagged up through the trees. Registration will be at Ard Whallan Outdoor Education Centre from 18.00-18.45. We have access to an outside toilet here if needed.

Please CAR SHARE. There will be parking at Ardwhallan, as well as Colden plantation car parks. Please follow marshals’ instructions. Please avoid parking on the grass verges alongside the reservoir if possible. Do not park at the start/finish area, access required here in case of emergency.

Bring full race kit and be prepared to carry it. A decision will be made on the night if this requirement can be relaxed.

Finally, this race is run on PRIVATE LAND. We have been granted access for the race ONLY. Please do not recce the section above the fence line on Carraghan hill itself. Additionally, there are to be NO DOGS at all on the course, including at the start/finish area.

North Barrule 2024

The Callin Wild Grand Tour of North Barrule is all set for next Tuesday - sign on from 6.00pm, races start at 7.00pm.

Please bring full race kit and be prepared to carry it. A decision will be made on the day if this requirement will be relaxed. Parking will be in a field off the Hibernia road, same place as last year - between the cattle grid by Dreamlang and the Ballure plantation. Look out for our fab hiviz heroes directing. Thanks to Philip Christian for the loan of the field.

Sign on from 6.00pm, will either be there OR in the start/finish area, depending on weather.

The shorter 'junior route' is different to last year, and is a circular route.

Mt Karrin - Entries open

Next up in the Callin Wild fell running league is the Mount Karrin race - Sunday 10th March at 10 am. Entries are now open on SI Entries. This is a 14 km category A medium fell race that requires self navigation.

Please note that the section from the A14 Tholt-y-Will road over the summit of Mount Karrin is on private land and should not be reccied (except by kind permission on Saturday 24th Feb - no dogs). At other times this area can be avoided using Public Right of Way 61 (through Ballacuberagh plantation).
