Baldwin Valleys 2016

The third round of the 2016 Callin/Wild Manx Fell Running League takes place on Saturday 20th February. Start time is 1.00pm for those expecting to take over 2.00 hours and 1.30pm for the late start. Registration will be from 12.15pm for the early start and from 12.45pm for the late start. Start and finish will be at Ballawyllin Beg in East Baldwin. Distance will be 14km with 750m of ascent. Full safety gear is mandatory for all runners and there will be random checks both before and after the race. Minimum age is 18 years on race day.

Limited parking is available at Ballayllin Beg and also at Booilshuggel Farm thanks to Jim Caley. Please park sensibly and if possible car share.

Would all runners please note that all race numbers must be worn on their chest and must be clearly visible at the start, at the safety controls and the finish. It was disappointing that a number of competitors did not display their numbers as requested at the recent Ard Whallan race and in so doing compromised MFR and FRA safety rules. Please give us full cooperation in this matter in future.

runners will need to punch their cards at Carraghan(1), the Green Lane near Injebreck (2), Brandywell safety control (3), Beinn Y Pott (4), Creg Y Cowin safety control (5), Keppel Gate safety control (6), and the stile at Abbeylands Lane (7). this will give our marshalls more time to record numbers.

Its traditional to share exquisite home baking treats to help with muscle recovery after the Baldwin Race. Give it your best Mary Berry! Tea and coffee will be supplied to wash it all down.

The Club's President, Douglas Drown, has been promised first pick while the runners are out on course.
