Next up is the James Coulson Laxey fell race
Saturday 27th July starting at 13.30 with registration open from 12.30 at Glen Ruy Farm, Glen Roy, Lonan. GR407837
This is medium category A race but also includes a junior/ short course which will be fully flagged. Both races qualify for their respective MFR leagues. Full safety kit comprising waterproof full body cover, with taped seams and an attached hood, gloves, hat, whistle, compass, map of the course and emergency food will be required for the longer course and the same but without the need to carry food,map and compass for the junior/ short course.
There are a couple of very important points to note for this event.

Secondly the route has changed from previous years in parts so please take particular note of the route description and map which can be found on the MFR website using the link: https://manxfellrunners.org/james-coulson-laxey.
When recceing please note that the section from the start to the Mountain Wall and the last section through the fields from the Mountain Wall is on private land with no access except on the day. These parts of the course will be flagged.
Please be aware that this route is officially categorised on the FRA website as requiring navigation skills. If you are not confident in navigating in poor visibility using a map and compass please consider whether this is the race for you or better still attend Jim MacGregors navigation exercise at Windy Corner on Saturday 13th July at 11.00. This event is aimed at honing those navigation skills and all are welcome.
